Engineer David Umahi, the minister of works, has given the people of the South-East geopolitical zone the assurance that the federal government’s attempts to address the security issues facing the area will undergo a sea change in 2025.
During the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum’s visit to his rural residence in Uburu, in the Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi State, on Friday, Umahi provided this guarantee as part of celebrations for the Yuletide season.
In a statement, his Special Adviser on Media, Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji recalled what he called the South-East’s exceptional democratic dividends under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope government.

He appealed for greater unity and support for the Tinubu-led government from the people of the South-East.
“We must always express our gratitude to God and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” The South-East and Igbo people, in my opinion, are now headed in the correct direction. We’ve learned to speak less. We now understand that we are all owners of the center. We now know how to back the central government.

Umahi also praised Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, saying he has advanced the cause of peace and unity throughout the state.
While commending the youngsters of Izzi Nnodo for their generosity and gratitude, the minister challenged all Ebonyi State youths to continue championing the cause of peace, justice, equity, and good conscience.
He hailed the incumbent governor’s reelection in Ebonyi State as sacred, stressing that no agent of disunity could prevent it.

My message of justice, equity, and fairness will not change in Ebonyi State. Our beloved Governor will continue to get our encouragement to act justly and equally, God will continue to be with him.
Earlier in his remarks, Dr. Andrew Chibueze Elom, President-General of the Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum, stated that the purpose of the visit was to allow the youths from the three local government areas (where Governor Nwifuru comes from) to join the minister in celebrating the season.
Elon claims the visit was also intended to praise him for being a divine tool that was used to elevate an Izzi son to the position of governor.

He stated that the people of Izzi are grateful and would forever honour the Minister for his invaluable support in making the feat possible.
