2026 Mothering Sunday: Anambra Assembly Speaker, Udeze, felicitates Anglican women

As the Anglican women all over the world celebrate this year’s Mothering Sunday, Speaker of Anambra House of Assembly, Dr Somtochukwu Udeze, has described them as veritable instruments for propagation of God’s work.
In his goodwill message to all Anglican women in the state, Udeze noted that they had contributed immensely toward the development of their various churches through meaningful programmes and activities.
The News Agency of Nigeria NAN reports that the speaker’s goodwill message was issued by his Press Secretary, Mr Emma Madu, in Awka on Sunday.
Udeze enjoined the women to emulate the Biblical virtuous women like Esther, Ruth, Dorcas, Mary and Martha, stressing that their genuine service to God and humanity would be rewarded accordingly.
He also appealed to them to shun acts capable of smearing their reputation as Christian mothers but to uphold the virtues that glorify God.
The speaker equally appealed to fathers to continue to provide adequate security, love and care for their wives and join hands with them in building peaceful and progressive homes.
