Police officer’s son beheads younger brother in Ondo

Table of Content

A senior police officer in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State experienced an unimaginable tragedy when his 26-year-old son violently killed his younger brother, Emmanuel, for ritual purposes.

In a quick and angry response, furious youths from the community confronted the suspect, Daniel, which led to his death.

The community is now filled with tension after the tragic loss of the police officer’s two sons.

Roland Akinkunmi, a resident, told reporters that this shocking incident has left him in disbelief about the reasons behind such a terrible act.

The older brother is said to have lured Emmanuel to the quiet banks of the Origbara River, a remote spot in the community.

Akinkunmi said that an indigene of the town, who was trying to cross the river, raised the alarm after seeing Daniel attempting to hide the severed head in a black bag he was carrying.

He recalled, “I was close to the palace when I heard screams coming from the Origbara neighborhood. Curious, I went to see what was happening and found Daniel standing there with a human head in his hands. I was completely stunned and had no idea that it was the head of his brother.”

Daniel and Emmanuel are brothers, both born to the same parents, with their dad being a well-respected police officer in this area.

We are all really shocked. How could someone do such a terrible thing to their own family? They don’t even live in this neighborhood.
The local community is still trying to understand the awful thought of what could have made him kill and decapitate his younger brother.
Some neighbors have said that the brothers had normal sibling fights.

But we think there’s more to this story. In our town, anyone who spills human blood for a money ritual or any other reason will eventually be found out.

When asked for a statement, Ayanlade Olayinka, the spokesperson for the state police, confirmed that this sad event really happened.

Ayanlade said: “The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, has ordered an immediate investigation. The case has been given to the SCID for a thorough and discreet investigation.”

The Police Command in Ondo State is committed to ensuring no stone is left unturned in these cases.
