Political expert Dr. Neville Obagedo has urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers to find a balance between loyalty and progress in his leadership.

Obagedo, who teaches in the Political Science Department at the University of Benin, expressed this view during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Friday.

Political analyst Dr. Neville Obagedo has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers to strike a balance between loyalty and advancement in his governance.

Obagedo, a lecturer in the Political Science Department at the University of Benin, shared this perspective during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Friday.

His remarks followed Fubara’s reinstatement after a six-month emergency rule imposed by President Bola Tinubu on March 18, which was lifted on September 18.

Obagedo highlighted that as Fubara resumes his duties as governor, he must reconcile his loyalty to those who supported his rise to power with the developmental initiatives that will benefit the people of Rivers.

He emphasized the importance of loyalty in politics, noting that those in positions of power should acknowledge and support each other, which is key to maintaining leadership.

On his part, Mr. Iwalomhe Donald, a prominent politician in the state, has urged Fubara to concentrate on advancing Rivers now that he has returned to office.

Iwalomhe noted that Fubara should prioritize the progress and welfare of the state’s residents, encouraging him to address critical issues such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and job creation.

“By focusing on development, Fubara should aim to make sure that his administration provides real benefits to the people, building a legacy based on the health and prosperity of the state and its residents,” he said.
