Evan Ferguson: Hurzeler says that Player stays at Brighton, but must “accept” his position in the team.

Fabian Hurzeler, the manager of Brighton, says Evan Ferguson will not be leaving the team in January but needs to “accept” his role in the team

Danny Welbeck, Georginio Rutter, and Joao Pedro appear to be in the lead in the striking hierarchy, and the Republic of Ireland international has only started one Premier League match this season.

Ferguson, 20, was praised as one of the Premier League’s most promising young strikers when he first emerged as a youngster, but his progress has been hampered by an injury that kept him out of action for five months of the previous campaign.
Hurzeler maintains that the young player will stay at the Amex Stadium for the time being despite the Irishman’s decreased playing time being linked to a loan move away.

Hurzeler remarked, “I am not sure where this information originates from, as I told Evan that I am glad he is here with the team.”

He is training well, and I am pleased with his physical and mental condition. Naturally, he needs game time because he is a young player.

In his seven Premier League games this season, Ferguson has only scored once, and that goal came from the bench during last month’s 2-2 draw with Wolves.

Hurzeler, who joined in the summer, went on to say that although Ferguson is upset about not being in the squad right now, the German pushed him to be prepared when his time comes.

“Acknowledge your role and make sure you put yourself in the right frame of mind so that you are prepared when the opportunity arises,” Hurzeler advised.

That’s precisely what I told Evan and what I demand of him.

“I never mentioned a loan or anything similar to this to him.”
