Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, the newly reappointed secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has received congratulations from Shehu Dikko, the chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC). He stated that his experience in football administration cannot be disregarded, particularly since Nigeria is hoping to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
In his office, Dikko welcomed Sanusi and reaffirmed the commission’s determination to make sure Nigeria’s flag is raised at the next World Cup.

“I commend Dr. Sanusi on being reappointed. We can’t afford any doubt or inconsistency as we enter a very important phase of our World Cup qualifying,” he said.
Additionally, Dr. Sanusi is a seasoned match commissioner and chairman of the Africa Football Federations General Secretaries group, so his experience cannot be overlooked. “We need all the focus we can get, and we believe that his presence there will provide this stability and experience we need,” he said.

Dikko reaffirmed the commission’s determination to collaborate with all sports federations in order to achieve great things.

This is consistent with my DG’s and my determination to collaborate with all sports federations in order to support their success. We succeed if the federations do. For this reason, we have been meeting one-on-one with the different federations to learn about their unique issues and how we can help,” he continued.
