Rep. Aminu Jaji (APC-Zamfara) has welcomed Mallam Muhammad Kabir-Sani, the former governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 elections, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Kabir-Sani made the switch alongside members of the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly candidates’ Forum. The new members, along with thousands of their supporters, joined the APC through the Jajiyya APC political movement led by Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka.

They announced their defection to the APC with a large gathering of AAC and PDP members after a meeting with Jaji at his residence in Gusau. Kabir-Sani expressed their decision to join the APC under the Jaji Political Movement, citing their confidence in Jaji’s performance and the developmental progress he has achieved in his constituency and across Zamfara. Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, representing the PDP state house of Assembly candidates’ forum, also stated that their choice to join the APC was influenced by its status as the strongest political party in the state.

Discussions with Hon. Aminu Jaji were productive and there was mutual understanding, leading us to decide to join the APC. We are committed to staying in the party for the betterment of our state, he stated. Upon welcoming the new members, Jaji, who chairs the House Committee on Ecological Fund, praised their decision to join the APC.

He viewed their move as a positive development for both the party in the state and Nigeria as a whole. Jaji promised the newcomers fair treatment and a collaborative environment to strengthen the party’s presence in the state. He expressed confidence that the political experience and stature of the defectors, particularly their leaders, would enhance the Jajiyya movement and the broader APC community in the state. “I encourage you to stay with the APC and actively contribute to its growth,” the lawmaker added. Earlier, Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya-Anka, the State Chairman of the APC-Jajiyya movement, characterized the movement as the most robust political group, with an active structure across all 14 local government areas in the state.

Ajiya-Anka assured that all those who left would be involved in the party’s activities without any bias. He encouraged them to stay dedicated to the party’s growth by fostering unity, peace, and stability within the APC.
