Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has officially signed the budget into law for the year 2025, amounting to N955 billion naira. This budget, titled the “Budget of Consolidation and Expansion,” was signed during a ceremony held at the State Executive Council (SEC) Chambers in Uyo. Prominent officials, including the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt attended the event: Hon. Udeme Otong, members of the State Executive Council, and various legislators.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Eno expressed his appreciation for the lawmakers’ prompt and efficient handling of the appropriation bill. He noted the effective collaboration and unity between the executive and legislative branches, highlighting their importance for the successful execution of government policies and programs intended to foster the state’s advancement.

The Governor also underscored the necessity of establishing sustainable partnerships to ensure that the benefits of democracy effectively reach the citizens. This approach aligns with his administration’s ARISE Agenda, which prioritizes crucial sectors such as Agriculture, Rural Development, Infrastructure, and Social Empowerment.

It is also noteworthy that the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly approved the 2025 budget on December 24, 2024. Following a comprehensive review, the budget report was presented by Dr. Itoro Etim, the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation and Finance, representing the Uruan State Constituency. After adopting the report, the House deliberated as a Committee of the Whole, culminating in a third reading and final passage of the bill into law by the elected representatives.
