Table of Content

Newcastle United has officially signed forward Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, as both teams announced on Friday.

The former Nottingham Forest player made the switch this week in a transfer deal worth £55 million ($74 million), which was agreed upon by both Newcastle and Forest.

The Sweden international leaves the City Ground after spending two seasons with the club.
“I had an amazing two years at Nottingham Forest; they were crucial in my development as a player, but I’m really excited to be here now,” Elanga said in Newcastle’s announcement.

“The club won a trophy last season and is creating something special, something extraordinary that I can’t wait to be a part of.”
After missing out on Champions League qualification last year, Elanga will now compete in Europe’s top tournament with Newcastle, making him their first big signing of the summer transfer window.
He played 82 games for Forest, scoring 11 goals and providing 21 assists.
“I’m delighted to welcome Anthony to Newcastle United,” said Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe. “He has been a key target for us, and I’m glad to have secured him at this early stage of pre-season.”
