The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, praised Governor Umo Eno for his inclusive leadership, which he believes transcends political party affiliations. He noted that the governor’s fair-minded approach to governance has positioned the state as a hub of sustainable development since May 2023.
Ntukekpo commended Eno for mending the relationship between the state and the national government, steering clear of the divisive aspects of party politics. He expressed his concern that Akwa Ibom had been marginalised by the previous administration’s lack of ties to the central government, describing it as a prominent opposition group with a reputation akin to that of a renegade state.
The APC chairman expressed his thoughts during the inauguration of the Hemodialysis Unit and the Accident/Emergency Wards at the General Hospital in Ikot Ekpene. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the newly established unity and commended the governor’s progressive leadership, which he deemed crucial for the successful implementation of significant projects across the state. He highlighted that the new healthcare facilities will greatly enhance the community’s health
“I want to take this moment to applaud the hardworking Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno. It is truly inspiring to see a leader who fulfills his commitments,” Ntukekpo remarked.
He reflected on the governor’s tenure, stating, “Since taking office has implemented projects and programmes that have had a positive effect on our citizens. The grassroots are flourishing. His projects reflect his genuine care for the people. We hope that God continues to empower him as he provides support to our communities.
Prince Silas Ekpo, a prominent leader in the Ikot Ekpene community, expressed his joy regarding the recent backing from a notable opposition figure. He stated, “This endorsement underscores the people-centered approach of Governor Eno’s administration,” and added that “It reinforces the Governor’s commitment to inclusivity, as outlined in his ARISE Agenda plan.”
He further remarked, “This recognition from different political factions demonstrates that the Governor is genuinely dedicated to improving the lives of the people in Akwa Ibom.”
