In Friday’s Bundesliga match at home against RB Leipzig, Harry Kane, the team’s top scorer, is expected to make his injured comeback, coach Vincent Kompany announced on Thursday.
The 14-goal scorer in 12 league games this season, Kane, has missed time after suffering a thigh injury during last month’s 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund. “Whether he starts or not is something I won’t say. These days, the last training session is still crucial. “If all goes well, he will undoubtedly contribute tomorrow,” Kompany said to reporters. With 36 goals to lead the Bundesliga scoring charts the previous season, the England international has been indispensable to Bayern’s Munich.

“We previously stated that we could not replace Harry Kane on a like-for-like basis. “Harry has an incredible sense of where he needs to be in the box,” the Belgian coach continued.
“He’s one of the best boxers in the world, and that’s where he makes the difference. There aren’t many players capable of doing that.”

Saturday’s 2-1 setback to Mainz was Bayern’s first of the season, and Kompany was without a number of important players because of injuries, including keeper Manuel Neuer, Kane, João Palhinha, Alphonso Davies, and Serge Gnabry.
Davies, Kane, and Josip Stanisic are back in training, which Kompany said he was happy to see. He hoped that further players will return over the three-week winter break that begins on Saturday.
“If things go as well on Friday as they did in training yesterday, we’ll be in good shape,” he stated.
