Bishop David Abioye Starts New Church

Table of Content

Bishop David Abioye, the respected former Vice-President of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, has announced that he will start holding Sunday morning services on May 4. This is a significant event, occurring seven months after his retirement. The announcement was made during an evening service in Abuja on April 27, and it was met with great excitement from the congregation, who responded with joyful cheers and applause, showing their support for this new beginning. Bishop Abioye stated, “By the grace of God, our services will move to Sunday mornings starting next week at 8 am. May God bless you all abundantly in Jesus’ name.”

In October 2024, Abioye, along with Bishop Thomas Aremu, concluded their tenure at Living Faith Church, subsequent to a policy review that instituted a mandatory retirement age of 55 for church leaders. At that time, Aremu was 67 years old, and Abioye was 63 years old. During his retirement service, Abioye chose not to disclose any plans regarding the establishment of a new church. After retiring, he started a non-denominational ministry that meets every Sunday evening.

Speaking at the end of an evening fellowship on April 27, Abioye said his ministry would now hold services on Sunday morning.
