Erling Haaland has been offered a massive nine-and-a-half-year contract extension with Manchester city
The striker has extended his contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2034, although it was originally set to expire in 2027.
City has not disclosed the precise figures, but according to reports, it is one of the most lucrative contracts in sports history.
Additionally, buy-out clauses that were part of the 24-year-old’s contract when he joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 have been eliminated in his new agreement.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have already expressed interest in Haaland, who has been strongly linked to a prospective move to Spain.
But according to his new contract, the Norwegian will remain with City past the age of thirty-three.
“I am really happy to have signed my new contract and to be able to look forward to spending even more time at this great club,” Haaland stated.
“Manchester City is a unique club with wonderful supporters and a diverse group of people who all work together to bring out the best in each other.”
“I also want to thank Pep [Guardiola], his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the club as they have all helped me so much in the past couple of years. “They have created such a unique atmosphere here, that I am now City no matter what. I now want to continue growing, improving, and trying my hardest to get us to have more success in the future.
