The he-goat was stunned to his wits. So all this while that he had been committing his time and energy to the church work, nobody had cared to recognise his efforts; just this stubborn maiden who not only disobeyed and embarrassed him, but also disobeyed the rules of the church, is the one to be recognized and celebrated like this! He had often not trusted these indigenous priests — they would never be as sincere as the White Fathers. Imagine, even when he tried calling her back, instead of his fellow church members to help him rebuke her or at least quietly pull her back, they rather glowered at him. Out of anger, he turned and left the church. And never to come back! They were hypocrites, charlatans!
And that was the end of that marriage. He later approached the Dow, whom he married according to pagan rites. He swore never to have anything to do with Christians again. And today, he is only seen around pagan festivities and celebrations.
The Lamb was later baptised and betrothed to the Ram, a youth leader from a far church station, and they wedded according to the church rules.
Presently, however, a group of concerned believers have written to some prominent church leaders like bishops and general overseers to consider sending a high-powered delegation to have a discussion with the he-goat on the possibility of returning to the faith. They have argued that he was a pioneer member of the church and should not be allowed to remain with the pagans.
