I will not apologize for endorsing Tinubu-Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has boldly declared his unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election, without any regrets. Speaking at a thanksgiving service in Ochigba, organized by the PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas, Wike expressed his gratitude to the president for placing his trust in him.

As a former governor of Rivers State and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike was appointed by Tinubu as FCT minister in the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. However, his strong allegiance to the president has sparked controversy. Defending his stance, Wike stated emphatically, “I have no regrets, I have no apologies. If the opportunity arises again, I will do the same thing.”

Addressing allegations of land grabbing against him, Wike firmly denied the claims, questioning how such accusations could hold any weight when he is responsible for the management of lands in Abuja. “I am in charge of lands in Abuja. How can I grab what I oversee?” he asserted.

Wike further emphasized the importance of acknowledging the opportunities provided by the president, stating, “We must thank Mr. President. If he hadn’t offered us this chance, we wouldn’t have understood the larger picture. Here in Rivers State, we thought challenges were insurmountable.”

He concluded with confidence, “When engaging with the capital, you’re dealing with all Nigerians. No matter the noise or propaganda aimed at undermining me, the right thing will prevail.”
