Lokpobiri commends Renaissance for boosting oil production, restoring gas supply to NLNG

Table of Content

Heineken Lokpobiri, Nigeria’s minister of state for petroleum, has commended Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited for its significant role in increasing the country’s oil and gas production. This recognition comes just months after the company made headlines by acquiring Shell’s onshore assets for an impressive $2.4 billion.

Lokpobiri expressed his gratitude during his visit to the company’s booth at the 43rd annual international conference of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) held in Lagos.

Layi Fatona, the chairman of Renaissance’s board, shared that the company has experienced a remarkable growth of over 40% in production since the acquisition. He also mentioned that they have successfully restored a dependable gas supply to the Nigeria LNG plant.

Fatona said that Renaissance has a diverse range of operations, including onshore and shallow-water oil fields, as well as key facilities for exporting crude oil.

Fatona highlighted the company’s strong dedication to helping young professionals in Nigeria grow and develop. This is part of a larger plan to improve skills in the local community and support long-term growth in the energy sector.

“We spend time mentoring young talent, helping them appreciate and take advantage of the many opportunities available,” he said. “Through this program, we want to guide them on their path to success while also playing a big role in our country’s development by making the most of our rich energy resources.” This initiative reflects our belief that developing local talent is crucial to the long-term progress of both the industry and the nation.
