Makinde presents Staff of Office to Oba Ladoja as 44th Olubadan

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has presented the Staff of Office to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, officially installing him as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The historic coronation ceremony took place on Friday at the iconic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.

It was gathered that Governor Makinde, who cut short his annual leave on Thursday, personally attended the ceremony to perform the presentation.

Oba Ladoja emerged as Olubadan-designate following the passing of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who joined his ancestors on Monday, July 7, 2025.
