On Sunday, Manchester United ended their match against Everton in a 2-2 draw, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles scoring a last-minute goal to level the score.
United took the lead twice during the game, but Everton quickly responded each time, thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko. Mbeumo kicked things off by scoring just a minute into the second half with a powerful shot that found the net.
Everton leveled the score in the 83rd minute when Tyrique George, a former Chelsea player, unleashed a fantastic shot that got past United’s goalkeeper, Senne Lammens.
it looked like United had won the game when Benjamin Sesko headed in a cross from Luke Shaw in the 88th minute. But Maitland-Niles had other ideas, scoring a stunning late goal to wrap up the match in a draw.
The previous Arsenal player, who recently transferred to Everton from Lyon, netted an incredible goal from 30 yards out, aiding Everton in keeping their unbeaten streak this season.
Maitland-Niles, who just joined Everton on Tuesday, shared his enthusiasm about scoring in his debut match.
“It felt like a win,” Maitland-Niles told Sky Sports. “It’s fantastic; everyone dreams of starting like that, and fortunately, I did. When the ball came to me close to the edge of the box, I hit it perfectly, and it found the top corner of the net, which makes me really happy,” he continued.
On the other hand, Manchester United now has four points from three matches. They suffered a defeat in their opening game against newly promoted Hull City but rebounded with a strong 5-2 victory at home against Ipswich.
Everton are on five points after three games, placing them in eighth position, while Manchester United currently sits in 11th place.
