Arsenal’s recent win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League really shows what they can do, especially since Bayern is known as one of the best teams in Europe.
After defeating Tottenham in the north London derby, Arsenal had an incredible performance at home and won Bayern Munich 3-1. Jurrien Timber, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli all scored goals. This win is especially important because Bayern has been doing really well in Europe this season. With this victory, Arsenal is now at the top of their Champions League group.
Even though Bayern is still doing great in their own league, leading the Bundesliga by a good margin, this match was a surprising change for them. Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta, recognized the challenge, saying that Bayern is “the best team in Europe.” He praised his players for their amazing performance and pointed out that while this win is significant, they need to keep their focus on the next game against Chelsea.
Arteta would not be drawn on the question of whether Arsenal have a chance of winning the Champions League this season, showing that he believes in his team’s ability as they progress in the competition.
“We’ve shown a lot of consistency in our performance so far, but this is just the beginning,” he said. “It’s impressive, and we need to keep that momentum going.
“This will boost the players’ confidence and trust in each other. We made some adjustments, and the players really stepped up. I’m genuinely happy with how we played. I thought we were doing great. The energy in the stadium was fantastic, and we need to maintain that vibe.
Kompany was unhappy when he spoke to the media after the match but admitted that Arsenal played better than his team that night.
“I have to give credit to Arsenal,” said the former Manchester City captain. “They earned their win. However, in the first half, I felt we had a chance to make an impact.”
