Bayern Munich has announced that Jamal Musiala has signed a new long-term contract with the club that will extend his stay at Bayern Munich until 2030. This follows the recent signing of Alphonso Davies to a new deal. In a statement from the club, Musiala expressed his happiness, stating, “Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I took my first steps in professional football here and firmly believe we can achieve something big with this club in the coming years.”
Media reports in Germany indicate that the financial package of the deal is substantial, with Musiala expected to earn approximately €25 million gross (around $26.3 million) annually. Additionally, the signing fee is estimated to be around €20 million ($21 million). Given that Bayern Munich has recently surpassed the $1 billion revenue mark, the club felt confident in completing the deal.
The biggest aspect part of the latest deal is a specific clause that permits players to quit the club under certain situations. Previously, Bayern Munich avoided including such terms in player contracts. However, it has recently been discovered that their top striker, Harry Kane, has a provision in his contract that allows him to leave next summer for €60 million (about $63 million).
This adjustment may have made it simpler for Bayern to agree on a similar clause for teenage sensation Jamal Musiala, which had been a significant issue in his contract. Musiala’s clause is noteworthy since it allows him to leave Bayern Munich for €175 million (about $183 million) over the following four years. He may then be moved for €100 million (about $105 million) in 2029. This is a huge shift in how Bayern Munich handles player contracts.
