Ekaette Akpabio, the spouse of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has refuted the claims of sexual harassment made against her husband by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, asserting that her husband is a man of discipline.
In an interview with Arise Television on Friday, Akpoti-Uduaghan, who serves as the Senator for Kogi Central accused the Senate President of sexual harassment.
Also, the Kogi lawmaker alleged that Akpabio obstructed her motions from being presented on the Senate floor due to her refusal of his sexual propositions.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that her refusal of Apkabio’s advances led to ongoing harassment.
However, during a press conference on Friday at her residence in Abuja, Mrs. Akpabio refuted Natasha’s claims, labeling them as a product of an overactive imagination. She emphasized the amicable relationship that has historically existed between their families, noting that Natasha was indeed at her family home on the date in question, December 8, 2023. Mrs. Akpabio remarked.
The allegations lack any basis, as both families have maintained a cordial relationship that predates Senator Natasha’s marriage.” She characterized her husband as a disciplined individual who holds deep love and respect for her and their family. Furthermore, she highlighted his commitment to promoting women’s participation in government, which he demonstrated even prior to becoming Senate President. Consequently, she urged women to refrain from spreading such unfounded accusations, asserting her intention to pursue legal action regarding the issue.
