NNPC Retail host Female Mechanics, Advocates Inclusivity in Technical Fields

NNPC Retail Limited (NRL) achieved a significant milestone by successfully hosting She-Fix 2025, an event focused on empowering women in the automotive, technical, and energy sectors, while also celebrating International Women’s Day. Held recently at The Stable Center in Surulere, Lagos, the event drew over 300 active participants as part of the global observance of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD). The theme for the event was “Driving Diversity and Powering Progress.” The occasion highlighted the essential role of women in fostering innovation, contributing to national development, and enhancing economic growth. Through hands-on activities, engaging discussions, and technical demonstrations, the event showcased the diverse skills and contributions of women in industries that have traditionally been male-dominated.

The event celebrated the remarkable achievements of female mechanics, awarding them for their significant contributions and unwavering dedication to their profession. Mr. Huub Stokman, Managing Director of NNPC Retail, emphasized the transformative vision behind She-Fix: “She-Fix 2025 goes beyond being just an event; it embodies our shared commitment to acknowledging and amplifying the voices and contributions of women across various sectors.” Mr. Cyprian Onwuegbu, Senior Business Adviser representing the Executive Vice President of Downstream at NNPC Limited, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to gender inclusivity: “NNPC is dedicated to fostering diversity, equality, and inclusion. She-Fix represents our ongoing efforts to create a fair and progressive workplace for women.”

Attendees actively participated in Car Care 101 workshops and actual vehicle diagnostics, and they also found a thriving marketplace featuring women-owned businesses. NNPC Retail’s commitment to empowering women in the energy sector was further demonstrated by special discounts on LPG NR-GAS and Oleum Lubricants.
