The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), cutting the official rate to N910 per litre from the previous N945.
The adjustment, which took effect on Saturday, is already reflected at NNPC filling stations across key locations in Abuja, including Zone 6 on Kubwa Expressway and Wuse Zone 4, among others.
This reduction represents a N35 cut in petrol price at state-owned outlets and comes just days after Dangote Petroleum Refinery lowered its ex-depot price from N880 to N840 per litre.
Confirming the price change, NNPC officials noted that the move aligns with global trends, as crude oil prices have dropped following weeks of market volatility triggered by the Israel-Iran conflict and renewed tensions after attacks on Iranian nuclear sites.
In response, independent petroleum marketers have also adjusted pump prices downwards. Reports indicate that in Abuja, petrol now sells between N930 and N940 per litre, while in Lagos, prices have dropped to N890 per litre from previous highs of N925.
The Group’s spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, confirmed the changes, saying: “PMS price has been reduced from N880 to N840 per litre effective 30th June.”
