Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori extended his warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, on the occasion of his 81st birth anniversary, which will take place on December 19, 2024.
The congratulatory message was contained in a formal statement disseminated by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba on Thursday.
Governor Oborevwori commended the royal father for his unwavering dedication to the peace and development of Uvwie Kingdom and the broader Urhobo nation. He characterized the monarch, who also serves as the Chairman of the Urhobo Traditional Rulers Council, as “one of Nigeria’s distinguished traditional leaders, whose substantial contributions to maintaining peace and fostering development in the country are highly commendable.”
The Governor highlighted that His Majesty’s exemplary efforts in peacebuilding have continually yielded significant advantages for both the State and the kingdom, positioning it as a critical gateway to the flourishing oil and gas economy of Delta State.
He emphasized that over the years, Abe I has been instrumental in the advancement and prosperity of Uvwie Kingdom and Delta State, recognizing him as a distinguished leader, a respected monarch, an ideal role model, and a custodian of the traditions and heritage of the Uvwie people.
Furthermore, the Governor expressed gratitude for the royal father’s consistent support of his administration.
“On behalf of the Government and citizens of Delta State, I extend heartfelt congratulations to His Royal Majesty, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Dr. Emmanuel Sideso, OON, Abe I, as he marks 81 years on December 19.
“Our Government has greatly benefited from your support in various capacities, and I am assured that you will continue to be a paragon of peace and unity within your domain.
“As the Chairman of the Urhobo Traditional Rulers Council, you have exemplified exceptional leadership, serving as a beacon of peace, and embodying humility and excellence in governance.
“The Government and people of Delta deeply value your wise counsel and your contributions toward the attainment of the M.O.R.E Agenda and the vision of our administration,” stated Oborevwori.
“I join the esteemed populace of Uvwie Kingdom in honoring an exemplary monarch and wish him continued health, wisdom, and strength as he provides leadership for our traditional institutions within the Urhobo nation and Uvwie in particular.
“I congratulate His Majesty on his commitment to preserving and managing the culture and traditions of the Uvwie people, fostering harmony, promoting socio-cultural cooperation, communal living, and encouraging peaceful coexistence among the Urhobo and other ethnic communities within the State,” concluded the Governor.
