Chief Tony Okocha, the respected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers, called the late President Muhammadu Buhari an institution, a key figure in Nigeria’s political and military history.
Okocha shared his heartfelt condolences in a statement from Port Harcourt on Monday, expressing deep sadness over Buhari’s passing.
He also described the late leader as a model of patriotism, discipline, and integrity, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to serving the nation.
Okocha noted that Buhari’s leadership style over the years has made a lasting impact on Nigeria’s democratic growth and governance.
“From his time as a military Head of State to his significant return as a democratically elected President, Buhari has represented resilience and national renewal.
“Under his leadership, Nigeria saw major advancements in anti-corruption efforts, improvements in infrastructure, and reforms in agriculture.
“His legacy will surely keep shaping the political and developmental landscape of our beloved country for many generations to come,” he said.
He recognized that the APC State Chapter acknowledged Buhari’s important role in founding and growing the All Progressives Congress, a party he helped build with vision and strong determination.
Okocha stressed that the late leader’s principled way of living, simple lifestyle, and dedication to national unity should inspire all current leaders.
He mentioned that the APC in the state sends its condolences to his dear wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, his children, the extended Buhari family, the government and people of Katsina State, and the whole nation.
Okocha prayed for comfort, strength, and peace for those grieving, and for God to forgive the deceased’s faults, accept his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest.
