Recent FIFA Rankings show the Super Eagles collapsing.

Table of Content

The Super Eagles have fallen eight spots in the most recent rating, which was made public yesterday by FIFA, the organisation that oversees international football, after a string of disappointing performances this month.
The Super Eagles’ dismal performance in the last round of the 2025 AFCON qualifications cost them dearly, as they crashed in the FIFA Ranking and received a dismal point out of a potential six.

The team coached by temporary coach Austin Eguavoen fought Benin to a 1-1 draw in Abidjan before losing 2-1 to a weak Rwanda in Uyo to finish their AFCON qualification campaign.
Fortunately, prior to those two games, they had already purchased their ticket to Morocco 2025.
These performances have caused them to drop eight spots from their prior ranking of 36th to 44th in the standings.

Additionally, Nigeria dropped to fifth place in Africa, behind leaders Morocco, who continued to hold the top spot, with Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
