Kartel Energy Limited, a company dedicated to solar energy, has announced plans to train over 1,000 individuals in the solar industry across six cities in Nigeria. This initiative is designed to improve the skills of professionals in the country’s expanding renewable energy sector.
The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday, detailing a training program as part of their 2026 Technical Masterclass series. The training occurred in Benin City, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Ibadan, and Asaba from May 14 to June 25.
According to the statement, the program attracted a varied group of participants, including solar installers, technicians, engineers, business owners, and anyone interested in renewable energy. The educational sessions covered essential topics such as solar technologies, installation standards, and strategies for growing businesses in this area.
This year’s training also placed a special emphasis on high-voltage solar systems, with participants learning how these systems function, what is required for their installation, and the business opportunities they offer.
During a recent event, Ola Ogunsemowo, the CEO of Kartel Energy Limited, highlighted an important initiative aimed at addressing the lack of technical knowledge in Nigeria’s renewable energy field.
He noted that as more people and businesses begin using solar energy, there is a growing need for practical training that helps professionals learn how to safely and effectively install solar systems.

Ultimately, having a well-trained workforce builds trust with customers and supports the growth of the renewable energy community,” he mentioned.
The training program included a mix of classroom sessions and live demonstrations, allowing participants to interact with experts and gain practical experience.
Participants also had the chance to explore products from the company’s partner brands, including GenixGreen, Luxwatt, Ensky, and Chisage ESS, which provide energy solutions for homes, businesses, and industries.
Ogunsemowo ended by stating that the company’s long-term goal is to develop a new generation of skilled solar experts who will guarantee quality installations across Nigeria.
He mentioned that people who take part in the program should start businesses that focus on renewable energy, This is aimed at creating jobs and helping more people get access to reliable and sustainable electricity.
