Soludo, Muoghalu Emerge APGA, LP Candidates For 2025 Anambra Guber Poll

The current governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has been selected as the candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the upcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for November 8, 2025.

Furthermore, Chief George Muoghalu, who previously served as the managing director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), has received a nomination from the Labour Party (LP) for the same election.

Soludo secured the party’s nomination with the backing of delegates at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Saturday. On the same day, Muoghalu emerged as the Labour Party’s candidate, garnering 575 votes from delegates during the primary held at Finotel Hotel, also in Awka.

Notably, Muoghalu’s only rival, John Nwosu, had withdrawn from the contest about eight hours before the election but still managed to receive 19 votes. As this report was being prepared, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election was underway.

Simultaneously, officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were seen at the sites of the gubernatorial primary elections for both the APGA and LP parties.
