Spurs suffer another defeat as Anthony Elanga scores for Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest moved up to third place in the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, thanks to Anthony Elanga’s goal in the first half.
In the 28th minute, Elanga led a great Forest counter-attack, settling a match that Tottenham concluded with 10 men when former Forest player Djed Spence was sent off.
The result propelled Forest up to third place with 34 points, while Tottenham’s fourth defeat in five Premier League games dropped them to 11th place with 23 points after 18 games.

Tottenham dominated the first half, with former Forest winger Brennan Johnson coming close for the visitors, but the hosts scored in devastating way.

When Tottenham lost possession in the Forest area, Morgan Gibbs-White split the visiting defence with a beautiful pass, and Elanga beat custodian Fraser Forster with a clever finish.
Forest won their third consecutive top-flight game since 1995, which was especially satisfying for manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who had been fired by Tottenham three years prior.
Forest already have more points than they did last season, when they were on the verge of relegation.
Tottenham trail Forest by 11 points, and manager Ange Postecoglou will undoubtedly face more pressure.

His team had opportunities before halftime, with Son Heung-min hitting the side netting with a free kick just before the half and Matz Sels twice denied Johnson.
After the half, Tottenham lacked a game plan, and Spence’s second yellow card deep in stoppage time summed up their annoyance.
