Tottenham Hotspur has officially signed midfielder Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, as both clubs confirmed on Thursday.

The transfer fee is about £55 million ($74.7m), and the Ghanaian international has agreed to a six-year deal.

At only 24 years old, Kudus had an £85 million release clause in his contract, which could only be triggered by other Premier League teams; however, West Ham was ready to let him go for a lower amount.

Kudus, who was previously wanted by Chelsea, moved to West Ham in 2023 from Ajax and has become a key target for the new Spurs manager, Thomas Frank, this summer.
“I am thrilled to be here; I am very happy and excited to get started,” he said on Tottenham’s official website.

“A big reason for my choice to join is the project and the manager’s vision for it, along with the opportunity to grow under his guidance. Given his history and the amazing talent he has turned into great players, it is a major reason why I was eager to work with him too.

While at West Ham, Kudus played in 80 games, scoring 19 goals and making 13 assists.

Tottenham is also close to completing the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
