Troops from the Joint Task Force, known as ‘Operation ENDURING PEACE,’ successfully rescued a kidnapping victim and recovered the ransom money that had been paid by her family. This operation took place in the Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to a statement from Capt. Polycarp Oteh, the Media Officer for this operation, the rescue occurred on Saturday. The victim had been kidnapped from the Bauna community in Shendam on April 19.
Acting on tips and gathering intelligence, the troops launched their operation. By questioning an arrested suspect who admitted to the crime, they were able to track down the victim’s location in the Padam Forest area of Qua’an Pan.
After ensuring the victim’s well-being through medical checks, she has now been reunited with her family. The N8 million ransom that had been paid was also returned to her family.
Capt. Oteh said that the troops are continuing their efforts to find the kidnappers’ hideouts in Qua’an Pan and Shendam to capture other members of the group involved in this crime.
