Unruly Behaviour;Wasiu Ayinde Apologises For Airport Incident

Table of Content

Fuji music icon, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has tendered an apology for an incident involving him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on August 5, 2025, while firmly denying claims that he was carrying alcohol.

In a statement personally signed on Friday, the renowned singer described the episode as “unfortunate” and clarified that the flask in his possession contained only water.

He explained that he suffered from chronic dehydration and had been advised by his doctor to remain constantly hydrated, hence his habit of carrying a water flask.

“Contrary to the negative narrative being circulated, the flask contained only water — not alcohol,” he stated.

K1 said the container was empty during two separate security checks and was only filled at the airport lounge before he proceeded to the tarmac.

He emphasised that he had not boarded the aircraft, “let alone being deboarded,” adding that CCTV footage could confirm his account.

The Fuji star apologised to the Presidency, the Ministry of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, ValueJet, and Nigerians in general for any concerns raised by the incident.

“It was never my intention to cause any disruption or violate aviation protocols.

“My patriotism and loyalty to Nigeria have never been in doubt, and I would never tarnish the image I’ve built over five decades,” he said.
