The Nollywood community is in deep sorrow following the passing of esteemed actress Nkechi Nwaje.

Actress Rita Edochie shared a posted a candlelight image on Instagram against a somber backdrop, captioning it, “This world is truly not our home.” Actor Stanley Ontop expressed his grief by posting photos of Nkechi, writing, “Nollywood is in tears as we mourn the loss of our vibrant actress @nkechi.nweje after a brief illness. I couldn’t share this earlier because it felt surreal to me.

“Ezigbo Nwanyi Onitsha, may you rest in peace, my dear friend. She would often call me to offer advice. The last time we spoke was during the Queenth saga, and she told me to stop. I’m still at a loss for words.” Other stars from Nollywood, such as Destiny Etiko and Anita Joseph, also expressed their condolences for the late actress. Nkechi Nweje was celebrated for her wonderful performances in Nollywood, especially in motherly roles, leaving behind a remarkable legacy through her exceptional work in the industry.
