Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar on Monday said that his visit to his former boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, was not political.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election, had on Monday arrived the penthouse of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta and held a closed-door meeting with the former President.
Atiku was the Vice-President to Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007.
He arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex, Abeokuta, at exactly 12.37pm.
The former Vice President was in company of former Sokoto state governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, Senator Abdullahi Ningi from Bauchi State, former Cross Rivers state governor, Lyel Imoke and Otunba Oyewole Fasawe among others.
Rising from the meeting at about 2:17pm, Atiku told newsmen that he was on courtesy visit to his former boss and not to discuss politics.
Asked for the purpose of the meeting and whether it was related to his 2027 Presidential ambition, Atiku said, “I am here on courtesy call, I am not here to talk politics”.
