Wike Sacks FCT-IRS Acting Chairman

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has sacked the acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr Michael Ango.

Mr Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the minister on Public Communication and Social Media, announced the sack in a statement in Abuja on Friday.

Although no season was provided for the sack, the most senior official of the FCT-IRS had been directed to take over the running of the Service with immediate effect.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ango was appointed acting chairman of FCT-IRS in August 2024.

He succeeded Haruna Abdullahi, who had served as acting chairman for about three years.
