It was confirmed on Thursday that Wolverhampton Wanderers had appointed Vitor Pereira as their new manager in the wake of Gary O’Neil’s departure.
After a dismal start to the season, Pereira, the club’s third Portuguese manager, will be entrusted with maintaining Wolves in the Premier League. He comes from Al Shabab of the Saudi Pro League and has 11 years of experience managing in eight different nations.

Pereira rose to prominence at FC Porto, as he led the team to consecutive Primeira Liga titles after taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in 2011. Throughout his varied managing career, he has also managed Al Ahli, Fenerbahce, 1860 Munich, Corinthians, Flamengo, and most recently, Al Shabab. He has also won league titles in Greece with Olympiacos and China with Shanghai SIPG.
