A woman by the name of Aldi Johnson has been discovered dead in a hotel located in Abuja, with reports indicating that she may have been strangled.
A witness, identified only as Ifeanyi, reported that the woman checked into the hotel located on 3rd Avenue, Gwarimpa, on Monday night with an unknown young man from the area.
It was revealed that the woman was found dead when the hotel cleaner entered the room to perform her cleaning duties, only to discover that the door was locked from the outside.
The cleaner knocked on the door several times without getting a response, which led him to inform one of the hotel staff members, who then forced the door open and found the woman with her hands tied behind her. He also observed that her mouth was bound with a small piece of cloth, and the hotel staff recorded her on his phone before contacting the police. Sources indicate that the police arrived at the hotel later and took her body to the morgue.
Meanwhile, SP Adeh Josephine, the spokesperson for the FCT police command, confirmed the incident, stating that preliminary investigations revealed that the victim, later identified as Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, a woman from Benue State, checked into the hotel on June 16, 2025, accompanied by an unidentified male who was later seen leaving the premises without her. She further mentioned that the woman was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital for medical evaluation.
“While the investigation is ongoing, Police Commissioner CP Ajao Saka Adewale has asked everyone to remain calm and allow the Police to carry out a detailed inquiry,” she said.
She also advised young women to be cautious in their interactions, especially with people they don’t know, and to always inform trusted friends or family about their whereabouts for their own safety.
