Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Peter Rufai is Dead

Former Super Eagles’ main goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, has passed away.

Rufai died on Thursday after a long fight with illness. He was 61 years old.

Peter Rufai, also known as Dodomayana, was considered one of the best goalkeepers that Nigeria has ever had.

Throughout his 20-year playing career, Peter Rufai played in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain. He also represented Nigeria in two World Cups and two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

Rufai’s passing comes on a day when the football world is also mourning the loss of Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota.

Jota tragically died in a car accident in Spain along with his brother in a fatal accident.
