Africa is preparing for a development summit. This event will bring together people from various industries to transform the continent’s procurement sector into a more efficient driver of development.

Dr. Clever Ruswa, who leads the African Public Procurement Network, will be the main speaker at the 7th Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Summit. This summit is scheduled for July 3 and 4, 2025, in Lagos, and aims to spark meaningful discussions and solutions for the future of

The summit, titled “Driving Impact through Innovation: The Future of Procurement & Supply in Africa,” will bring together supply chain experts, industry leaders, and regulatory bodies to discuss innovations that could improve procurement practices throughout the continent.

Ruswa, who is also the Chief Executive Officer at the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, is anticipated to share practical strategies aimed at enhancing procurement governance to boost transparency, sustainability, and competitiveness.
He mentioned that the summit represents a “critical moment for raising procurement standards,” and he intends to use this opportunity to showcase how innovation and best practices can “enhance transparency, promote sustainable growth, and unlock Africa’s economic potential.”
The APPN, which Ruswa heads, comprises public procurement entities from 46 African nations. The summit organizers highlighted that under his guidance, the network has been pushing for procurement reforms that align with global standards while addressing Africa’s unique economic contexts.
It was also noted that at PRAZ, Ruswa has spearheaded regulatory reforms aimed at fostering fairness and improving accountability in public procurement processes.

His professional experience spans finance, infrastructure, and regulatory leadership. He has previously held positions as the Group Chief Executive Officer at Mike Appel Organisation and as Chief Operating Officer at the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe.

The summit will feature perspectives from key industry figures, including MTN, Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority, the Volta River Authority, and Flour Mills of Nigeria Limited.

According to the organisers, this event will serve as a prestigious venue for assessing strategies, exchanging groundbreaking ideas, and tackling the changing challenges in procurement and supply chain management.
