Mbappé double gives Madrid Clásico win over Barcelona

Real Madrid narrowed Barcelona’s lead down to just three points after Kylian Mbappé netted a clutch goal in the closing stages, securing a 2-1 victory at the Nou Camp on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho’s team looked like they might miss their chance to reduce the point gap when Raphinha tied the score at 1-1 around the 60th minute.

Mbappé gave Real Madrid the lead in the first half against Barcelona in the first half, but when the game seemed like it would end in a tie, Real Madrid scored again in the 87th minute.
Jude Bellingham orchestrated the decisive goal with a clever touch, laying it off to Eduardo Camavinga, who then sent a cross back for Mbappé to tap in.

Barcelona hadn’t dropped points in any of their nine league matches this season and were hoping to hang onto their six-point cushion over Madrid. Still, Madrid’s victory brought them into contention, even though they remained stuck in third.

Barcelona are still topping la Liga by two points, making what seemed like an easy title race into a much tighter competition under Flick’s leadership.
