Treble-chasing Inter not setting limits after knocking Bayern from Ucl

Inter Milan showed their character by earning a draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, which propelled them into the Champions League semifinals. With the possibility of a treble still alive, the Italian side is refusing to impose any limits on their ambitions.

Bayern took the lead at the San Siro, but Inter quickly countered with two rapid goals. However, another strike from the Germans created a tense finish, yet the hosts ultimately triumphed with a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

Currently leading Serie A and still competing in the Coppa Italia, defender Benjamin Pavard, who netted his team’s second goal, believes there’s no reason they shouldn’t aim for total victory.

“I’m thrilled about scoring my first Champions League goal, “What truly brings me joy is seeing the team achieve such an important milestone by making it to the semifinals.” Pavard stated.

We encountered many obstacles on the field, highlighting the importance of having a solid defense for our success. We executed our defensive plan carefully, and it’s especially thrilling when a defender scores a goal just like a forward would.

“We don’t set limits for ourselves; now that we’ve come this far, we want to keep moving forward.” Lautaro Martínez equalized for Inter just six minutes after Bayern took the lead. As his team gets ready to face Barcelona in the semifinals, the Argentine striker is focused on defending their league title first.

“We will remember this moment for a long time,” Martínez said.

“Inter never backs down. We have determination, passion, and a solid strategy. We faced challenges, but we showed once again that we can accomplish great things. Every new season, our goal is to win everything.

“We have a big match coming up against a strong opponent, as they have a rich history in the Champions League. But for now, we are concentrating on the league, and then we’ll think about the Champions League.”

Inter won the treble in 2010 after beating Bayern to secure the Champions League, and manager Simone Inzaghi is on track to follow in José Mourinho’s footsteps. “It was a fantastic evening, played in our stadium, in front of our fans against a very tough team,” Inzaghi commented.

“We had to deliver two exceptional performances, giving it our all. The players were amazing, and this victory is one to celebrate with the entire Inter community.

“We are making progress through this long season, which has brought us so many emotions.”
