Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno on Monday allocated portfolios to new commissioners to accelerate implementation of the state 25-year Development Plan and 10-year transformation initiatives.
This was contained in a statement issued in Maiduguri by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani on Monday.
Zulum appointed Dr Babagana Mallumbe as Acting Chief of Staff, following his service as Deputy Chief of Staff I.
Hauwa Abubakar was appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice while Bukar Dalatu was named Commissioner for Budget and Planning.
Lawan Wakilbe was appointed Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
Umar Dalorima was appointed Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Prof. Baba Mallam-Gana was appointed Commissioner for Health and Human Services.
Prof. Usman Tar was appointed Commissioner for Information and Internal Security.
Sugun Mai Mele was appointed Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs while Aliyu Buba was appointed Commissioner for Transport and Energy.
Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo and Saina Buba were appointed Commissioners for Women Affairs and Youths, Sports and Poverty Alleviation, respectively.
NAN also reports that all the commissioners are expected to assume duties across their ministries with immediate effect.
