A statement released by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has announced the suspension of admission into the Law Faculty of Fountain University, Osogbo, for the 2025–2026 academic year.
In a statement released Friday morning by its Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB clarified that the move followed another submission from the Council of Legal Education(CLE), this happened days after eight colleges had taken a similar step.
With this development, Fountain University has become the ninth institution where JAMB will not be conducting admissions into the law programme for the 2025/26 academic session.
JAMB had previously announced that it will not be processing admissions for the law degree at eight institutions in Nigeria since the CLE had suspended their Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) program.
In accordance with the Council of Legal Education’s (CLE) ruling, it is crucial to restate that the Nigerian Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, would suspend its legal program for two academic years, especially the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 sessions, JAMB emphasized.
