The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Katsina State Council, has issued a stern warning to the state government, threatening to withdraw its members from frontline local government areas due to unresolved security and welfare issues.
The association announced that a two-day warning strike would commence on Thursday, January 30, 2025. If their demands remain unmet, they plan to embark on an indefinite strike.
The impacted local government areas are Batsari, Funtua, Malumfashi, Kankara, Kurfi, Danmusa, and Jibia, all of which are susceptible to insecurity.
NANNM highlighted that its members should have better welfare and security measures in order to continue providing vital healthcare services in these insecure areas, as they confront growing risks.
